The Catchment Target for land and vegetation is that the quality and quantity of vegetation is managed to maintain and/or improve designated cover capable of preventing soil erosion (ie. designated cover greater than or equal to 40%.

Three programs are established to contribute to meeting this target:

Sustainable Agriculture

Landscape Management

Pests

The Western CMA works towards meeting the target by funding individuals, groups and organisations undertaking onground works or training contributing to that target through its incentive programs.Click here to read more about our real life achievements in improving land and vegetation.

The Western CMA also coordinates 'broadscale projects' - large undertakings beyond the scope of individuals that are essential for the health of the Catchment. They often involve a considerable financial investment and numerous groups and/or government organisations. Read more about our broadscale projects here:
