How Healthy is our Catchment? Management Targets

Management Targets are used to measure how well the natural resources of our catchment are managed.

The Management Targets are currently in draft form and are derived from the Catchment Blueprint 2001. They will be further refined during the development of the Catchment Action Plan, a ten year plan for natural resource management.

They are grouped into three themes:

1. Land and Vegetation

Sustainable Agriculture

Native Pasture Recovery

Pests

2. Rivers and Groundwater

Riverine Habitat

Water Quality

Water Sharing

Great Artesian Basin

3. Biodiversity

High Value Ecological Communities

Enterprise Based Conservation

Further targets are to be developed during the Catchment Action Planning process to address:

  • Property Vegetation Planning;
  • Cultural Heritage Values
